2 summer product must haves

If I had to choose two products that I wanted to use other then make up it would defiantly be these two right here.
1) M.A.C. Fix +
I set my make up with this every day during the summer and use it when I need more moisture or want to freshen up after being outside in the heat.

2) Original Juicy Couture perfume
I also have Couture Couture by Juicy and I really like it as well but I feel that it is too much for the summer and more for night wear or in the colder seasons.

My makeup story

♥  How old were you when you started wearing makeup?  & ♥ How did you get into makeup?
My best friend Hannah knew everything there was to know back in high school, yet I only experimented with eyeliner/lip gloss when I was 16/17 and never really picked up on anything else until a few years after that because I had really good skin that I took care of I didn't even bother to find out what foundation was until I was a few years out of high school.

♥ What are some of your favourite brands?
NARS, MAC, Maybelline,  Urban Decay, benefit

What does make-up mean to you?
No one is perfect and no one needs to hide behind a face full of make-up because that is not what the purpose of make-up is. Enhancing your natural beauty and using make-up for fun and not to hide with is what it means for me. I make time in my morning to enjoy putting on my make-up since I enjoy doing it so much. If I felt like it I could do everything within 5 minutes but I hate doing that, I rather take my time and be able to play around and relax while doing it.

If you could only wear 4 products on your face what would they be?
Moisturizer, mascara, lip balm, foundation

What is your favourite thing about makeup?
How it can make you so happy and girly at the same time! Its a great source of retail therapy and is something you can bond over with any girl friend. It is something that your typical guy will never understand and that we can embrace among ourselves. I believe it brings girls together into a positive community where they can be accepted for themselves.

What do you think about drugstore makeup vs high end makeup?
There are pros and cons about the two of them. Every girl enjoys her high end make-up but it is a splurge of money that you should only do it you can afford to do so. As well as make sure you know what brand to seek out and what type of products you are willing to spend the extra cash for.
High end :
Better formulation
Higher cost
Longer wear

Drugstore:
Affordable
Great dupes of high end products are available
Better pigmentation of colors in some cases

What is one tip of advice you can give to a beginner?
Start with your basics, find a guru on Youtube or on Blogger that you enjoy and follow along with their tips. Drugstore brands are a must until you can find what you are looking for within high end make-up. Always read labels and make sure you are benefiting your personal skin type. You are an unique individual and you need to play with your features that you like the most and create whatever type of looks you are willing to try out.

What is one makeup trend you never understood?
Crazy amounts of black eyeliner or really thin eyebrows that look like they have been drawn and/or have been actually drawn on. :/

♥ What do you think of the Beauty Community on Youtube/Blogger?
I think the beauty community on Youtube is great and I want to eventually start making my own videos and joining them. Yes there are girls on there that are fake and I can't stand them but at the same time there are gurus that truly love making videos and put their heart into making them. I learn new tips and tricks from these types of people on there and that's what makes me want to eventually start doing as well. On Blogger I think the beauty community is also great because you can write up reviews and post links to things as easily as Youtube, it is a bit less personal because you don't have the same type of interaction yet it is as helpful and fun to read and make blogs as well.

 Who is your style icon?
Blake Lively &
Katy Perry

Favorite NARS products

NARS sheer glow foundation in Fiji
This foundation is not my favorite for the summer time because it feels a bit too heavy compared to a tinted moisturizer or a BB cream. Yet this is a great all round foundation for fall/winter or whenever it is not humid or very warm. If you are looking for a dewy complexion without over doing it then this is a great product for that.

NARS concealer in Custard
I use this for under my eyes to cover up darkness, it is very creamy and easy to use. It is my second favorite all time concealer right after my studio sculpt from MAC. I really want to try the NARS duo concealer compact rather then the tube of it that I have now.

NARS lip gloss in Turkish Delight
Described as a pink sorbet in color this complements every skin tone and is great for every season.

NARS blush in Orgasm
Shimmery peachy pink that is a great color for anyone and for any occasion. By far my favorite blush of all time and is always my go to blush for every day looks or evening looks.

NARS eyeshadow duo in  Cheyenne
This is my go to duo if I can't decide eye color I want to create.
The first color is described as a metallic sienna which is great for all over the lid.
The second one is described as a Gothic plum and is a good color for in the crease or all over the lid as well.

NARS single shadow in Bengali
This is a matte dark brown color that I use for smoking out my eyes in my crease most of the time.

Summer nail polish

Sally Hansen Xtreme wear nail color.
Crushed (#20):
Coral orange color that is perfect for summer. I only had to apply one coat of this polish and the outcome was great. Nice and shiny , must buy more colors from this collection of Sally Hansen nail polishes.

Strobe light (#200):
Very sparkly reminds me of confetti on my nails, is perfect for using on one nail and painting the rest a solid color. Used two coats to get a good application done.

Products worth trying

1) Olive body scrub from the body shop.
This scrub smells so good, just go into the store and smell it and you will be hooked. Also leaves your skin so smooth and is great for if you are trying to tan via the sun or sunless either way it helps remove dead skin cells better then just using a body wash.
2) L'oreal re-nitrition hair mask
I have had this for over a month now and use it 2-3 times a week as a conditioner which I leave in for about 3 minutes and then rinse out. It is just good to add nutrition to your hair a few times a week this will leave it smoother and easier to work with.
3) L'Oreal detangling care
After towel drying my hair I use a few sprays of this product which helps from damaging strand when you brush out your hair from being tangled. I also use this product as a way to freshen up my hair when I want to between days that I wash my hair because it leaves no residue and keeps my hair looking healthy and not greasy.

L'Oreal Youth code

I got this set about a month ago now for about 30$ and you get three large sample sized of this new collection that L'Oreal has come out with. The only one that I would repurchase in the larger size would be the eye cream. The applicator is a cold metal one and it feels so nice under your eyes it reminds me of those eye rollers that you can buy,  but instead this is applying a soothing cream. The other two products are nice in texture and the taller one has SPF in it but I found that they where like any other type of anti aging cream that's out there. I would recommend purchasing this set to try everything out because even if you just end up liking one of the three products they include a 5$ coupon on your next purchase out of this youth code line which I think is a really good deal.

St. Ives = St. LOVE

I adore St. Ives products for millions of reasons but the main one has got to be the fact that they have such a variety of products. They have something that will work for everyone from combination to dry to oily skin for their face products and the same with their body care products. These are the four that I have been using most recently (& yes I know two of them are targeted to treat wrinkles yet I am simply preventing them from coming sooner) The first picture above is of their skin firming cellulite treatment. I use this in the summer just for the prevention of cellulite on my legs and bum. I like that it leaves my skin really smooth and so far has prevented any sort of cellulite from forming. It says that it can visibly reduce cellulite in 2 weeks which I am sure it must since it prevents me from having any period.
Then I have my timeless skin mineral clay firming mask, which feels amazing and makes my skin feeling squeaky clean after each use. It is supposed to tighten your skin which no I do not have wrinkles at 21 but it is a good way again for prevention! It is better to start early with these types of products then late. This is also an oil free product.
Third product is my all time favorite scrub!!! It is there naturally clear green tea scrub that is oil free and clears any breakouts and soothes your skin. This product smells so good and feels amazing when applied to your face. A little goes a long way with this product because of the exfoliating beads and the thickness ( a good type of thickness) of the product. My skin is so used to it that I use it every day but it is probably best to use it 2-3 times a week otherwise.
The last product is another one of their timeless skin products and I switch back and forth from this collagen elastin facial moisturizer and a different one day to day because of the fact that it is not directed at my skin type.  I apply this to my face and neck before bed every other night, it is very moisturizing and hydrating.
