Layering up for winter

Super cute beanies and hats are always a great way to stay warm and cute in the cold :) As well as a knitted scarf and a pair of mitts always warms up your outfit if you are headed out into cold weather.

I layer mostly every day during the colder months of the year since I live in such a cold region of Canada. Basic camis are always good to have a lot of because they make putting together outfits so much simpler. I like to wear ones that have lace or a little bit of detail if I plan to wear them underneath something that is not as loud.

Over top choose your favorite sweater, something that you can wear once your indoors and can take off some layers of your outfit if it gets too hot once inside.

I love chunky cardigans to trow over top of what I am wearing they are perfect for the cold weather because they give that extra layer of warmth underneath a jacket. As for bottoms I usually pair an outfit like this with thick black leggings and I don't get cold yet you could also pair it with jeans. Or you can dress it up by wearing a high waisted skirt and tucking the cami inside the skirt, and the rest over top!

Pair this with a coat if needed and you are set to go!

For boots I always go for wearing tall over the knee because they are both warm and there is a slim chance of snow ever getting inside them. They are also great to pair with leggings or tights if your wearing a tunic and a jacket of course cause you don't want to freeze ! The boots above are also practical because the bottoms have grips which will make walking on ice or snow a lot easier then regular boots and they have a heal that is a good size for balancing and not falling on your bum. The inside also looks really nice and warm, with their height there is also little chance of snow getting your feet wet by falling in them.
