Product Reveiw; Almay smart shade

This is my first product from Almay , I picked it up at Target because it was on clearance for $5 and I liked that it said it was oil free , had sunscreen and is a tinted moisturizer. So far I really like it, I like that it is made to blend in with your skin tone Ive never tried something like that before.

The application is super easy with the squeeze tube applicator which is super convenient. I got the shade "light 100" and it fits me perfectly.

At first I was scared that I got the wrong color because it comes out pretty much white but it blends into your skin and turns a different color accordingly.

This is after rubbing it in my hand a little , you can see the color change.

This is after I blend it out completely, you don't see anything!

How I "organize" my desk for makeup

Now this may seem very unorganized and a mess to some people but I only have room for a small desk in my bedroom and it doubles as where I do my school work and where I store my makeup. To me this makes sense and is the most organized it has ever been lol
I <3 it.
I got this three tier display from Ikea for about 20$ or less and I have it organized from face makeup at the bottom, eye makeup in the center and hair everything at the top so that it is easy to access and look around at what I have. Right beside this is my laptop which I am typing on atm which is the only area I have for it , and beside my laptop on the other side is a pile of school work and a pen/pencil organizer.
So in the bottom I have face primer, foundation, concealers, lip moisturizers, blushes, face creams at the back that I don't use everyday.
In the middle there are mascaras, eyeliners, eyeshadow, eye primers, eyebrow kits!
And as I said the top has every kind of clip, pin, elastic, headband you could ever need or want hahaha

Now here is where things can get complicated... The top of my desk. In the two spaces at the bottom I keep my glasses, makeup wipes, bioderma, eye make up remover from Avon, extra deodorant and Que cards for school.
Hidden in the kate spade elephant box are treats that I allow myself to if I had a bad day, need something to keep me going with school work, ect. Then there is my brush holder and in front of that are products that I use everyday sometimes more than once a day hence why I like to see them out in the open! On the divider behind those I have stuff that I use bi weekly or every now and again. Oh and a candle holder I converted into a place to hold my fav pieces of jewelry.

All time favorite under eye concealer

You know that you really love a product when it goes from looking like this to what it looks like in the second picture! I heard about this product through youtube and did not expect the results I saw with it! This is the Maybelline Dreamlumi touch highlighting concealer.

This is my first repurchase and it has lasted me from around this time last year till now to buy another because you don't need that much product for it to work. If you are a tried student like myself then you as well will fall in love with this. I look so much more alive after applying this under my eyes it is seriously amazing.

Here is a comparison to my old one which has seen much love, you cannot even see any writing on the packaging anymore haha. This retails for $12-$13 yet it lasts forever so I think it is a good price point.

It is just about used up, I think I have a week and a bit left but I wanted to stock up on a backup because I am not 100% sure as to when this guy will completely run out. That is another thing, I have had it for almost a year and it is the same consistency, so drying out whatsoever.

I love the applicator brush, it is so delicate and soft which is nice when applying to such a sensitive area of your face.  My shade is the lightest, "Ivory".

Gym Diaries Post #3

What do you do when you don't have time or access to your gym? This is what I have been dealing with this week, I am at my parents place and have been sick and about two hours away from the gym I call home. Nonetheless I still want to keep up with working out. I find that these at home friendly work outs that take no time and are super easy.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkKCVCZe474

This is a series of really easy Ab work outs that I really like following and they only take 8 minutes of your time.

I also try to do 200 body squats every other day, along with lifting smaller weights as I would in a normal gym day. My brother has a set here that I use and I find this way I can maintain strength while being out of the gym and feel not as bad when I get back into the routine.

Pictures for comparisons will be in the next gym diaries !!! xoxoxox

Product Reveiw; Mayebelline Fit me foundation stick

When I picked this product up I thought I bought a concealer because of the packaging! But this is a stick foundation which works out perfect because I only use it in areas where I need some coverage and it works so well. I wouldn't recommend this if you have dry skin, I had a dryish forehead this week and this did not look good on that area but I don't usually cover that area it was just for testing purposes.

I like that it stays true to the "Shine-free" claim that is on the packaging, it is a very matte yet not at all cakey finish.

This retails for about $5.65 CAN and this is the amount of product that it comes with.

The consistency is very creamy and smooth, feels amazing on skin. It blends out very easily , I just use my hands for that.

I think that this is the lightest or next to lightest colors but they do offer a great selection of shades which is always really nice.

What's in my travel makeup bag?

When I go back to my parents place even for a week this is all I end up bringing with me in my make up bag! I use this one from the brand Trina and retailed for about $45 but I got it for maybe $25 from SoxBox. I like the size as well, it isn't too big or too small.

I don't bring much compared to the amount of stuff I use daily at my apartment but I feel like if I am home with my parents I am on "vacation" and don't need makeup or if I do I am just going to apply the minimal amount!

I really wanted one that included a hook at the top so I can hang it up behind bathroom doors and that way it is not in anyone's way. I also like that the first compartment can come off but the bottom one doesn't, there is also the top compartment where I keep my little travel brush and hair spray.

In the first pocket I have my new power that I got while down here and my old MAC one that is just about finished. Then I have my Lash Blast mascara, tweezerman tweezers and deo.

In the second pocket I have a face brush and eyeshadow brush from ecotools, my Avon eyebrow kit, my moisturizer, my new Fit Me foundation (review up soon!) and MAC's naked lunch eyeshadow. Oh and my under eye concealer that is very very much loved as you can see!

These guys I keep in the first zippered compartment. It's a 10 hair spray and my mini travel hair brush. I got the hair brush from Avon and it is great because the back of it is a mirror!

Product Reveiw: Physicians Formula matchmaker powder

This is my first time trying anything from this brand , with Target now available in Canada we now have easy access to a lot of the brand that used to just be available within the states.  I have always heard great things about Physicians Formula and was in the need of trying a new face powder.

I find the packaging is quite heavy, not a hugs fan of that. I feel like they could of left out the bottom compartment that has the brush it comes with to make it more compact. I found this on sale for $9.35 which is a great price for the amount of product in the compact.

The powder is really soft and velvet like. There was an over spray of glitter on the balls that pop out but I just swept it all off with the brush.

I've stuck to MAC's studio fix powder for the past year and this product is something completely different. I find that their color variations are much better and work more towards matching your skin tone.

I didn't know that the mirror had the option of turning these two lights on until I opened the package. I really like this feature, not something you find in every face powder.

I got the lightest color out of the color range because I am pretty fair skinned and I find that it matches my skin very nicely.

Going out outfit ideas 2014

Here are two outfit ideas for going out that I am in love with. I like to keep things simple with an interesting dress so that no accessories are required, nice shoes paired with a simple clutch or small purse.

Outfit #1:

Tied Crochet Dress from Nasty Gal
www.nastygal.com $71.02
The detail crochet around the neckline is amazing and I love the tie in the back of the dress, all I would pair with this would be rings or a simple bracelet.

Rebecca Minkoff Mini M.A.C
www.rebeccaminoff.com $195
Always a go to brand for going out , I love that the Mini Mac is small enough to use as a clutch but you can also wear it with the shoulder strap.

Cleophilia booties from Aldo
www.aldoshoes.com On sale for $55.99
I would probably wear tights as well since it is so cold out! I think these boots are nice and simple and pull the outfit together.

Outfit #2:

Touch of Glam Skater Dress from Forever 21
www.forever21.com $21.80
Skater style dresses are my favorite at the moment and I think they flatter most any body shape. I love how this one is more dressed up than the usual casual style.

BCBGeneration 'Hilarie' Peep Toe Bootie from Nordstrom
www.nordstrom.com $144.55

Coach 'Small' Leather Wristlet from Nordstrom
www.nordstrom.com $65

I have also been loving pairing high waisted skirts with dressed up tops, here are two of my favorite outfits from over the holidays;

Top : Simons
Skirt: Forever 21
Necklace: H&M

 Black tank: Brandy Melville
Blazer: Forever 21
Skirt: Forever 21

Brand Reveiw ; Soap & Glory

This brand I heard about over and over again on YouTube and was praised by pretty much every girl that I was watching. As soon as I spotted the section in one of our pharmacies I got overly excited and wanted to try absolutely everything. I love the smell that everything from their line of products smells like, it is so fresh and clean. It did take some time for the brand to be available in Quebec but I discovered it at Shoppers Drug Store aka Pharmaprix.
http://www.soapandglory.com/ca/

 Sugar Crush $18.00
I like using this as mainly a bubble bath because I love the smell and is really nice and relaxing. On occasion I do use it as a shower gel as well but I like to change scents around so I have multiple different ones in my shower due to this.

Hand Food $10.00
I fell in love with this product the moment I tried it. The scent is amazing and it leaves hands feeling nice and moisturized without leaving any greasy residue afterwards. I have tried many many different hand moisturizes because my skin is prone to being dry in that area and I have not found anything that I enjoy as much as this one.

 The Righteous Body Butter $18.00
This product is amazing to put on skin after you take a bath or a shower and your skin will feel so good and hydrated. Again the smell is amazing and I am kinda addicted to it.
The Scrub of Your Life $16.00
I love the formulation with the amount of scrubbing beads that are in this scrub, not too much but not too little it is seriously the perfect amount.

Soft Hand & Lips & Hair through the winter

Winter is in full effect and with this cold harsh weather comes dryness and in places on our bodies we use the most. I have had my fair share of horrible experiences with dry lips, hair and hands therefore I have kept to a routine I find efficient.

As for nails; I treat my cuticles with three different products throughout the week and always keep them filed regularly to prevent them from breaking. The Avon cuticle balm really smooths the area and keeps it hydrated whereas the Bliss "manicure's best friend" is a little more intense. This is basically a moisturizer for your cuticles and makes them soft and less prone to cuts and sores. The last product are little beads in a oil that you dab onto each cuticle and massage into your skin.

These two products are amazing and I could not go through a winter without them. I've tried a bunch of hand creams over the years and nothing has compared to this one from Soap & Glory. This hand cream smells amazing and works wonders when used on a daily basis or whenever you need it, I mean it is made with marshmallows!  The Julep hand scrub I use every week just to get rid of any dead skin keeping my hands soft and less prone to dryness.

This is turning into a holy grail item for me and for dryness in my hair this eliminates it and makes my hair feel amazing.I spray it all over and is the only product I need in my hair even in the winter!

Lip care is something I need every winter and cannot ignore because mine are extremely prone to chapping and cutting and it really hurts! I love these lip scrubs from Lush, they help exfoliate and take off dead skin. An extra intensive lip balm is also a necessity and I have loved the Smiths line of products the most.

For everyday multiple times a day I have been using EOS balms for a year and a half simply because they work the best for me. Nivea products also work really well and sooth lips very well.

Gym Diaries Post #2

I recently renewed my yearly registration with my gym , celebrating our one year official anniversary! I think I am ready to share some of my progress , mainly just of me doing my favorite routines.

This is from when I just started in 2012 lifting 40 pounds over my head bringing it down to my chest and then back up for about ten to twelve reps doing five to six sets. I took a little break from doing this but am back at it because I missed it being in my routine!

Squats are my all time favorite I have just recently been doing less weight but going down to the ground more for strength. This is my max weight which is 185 pounds but I cannot bring this down as far as I want to yet but I am getting there!

Leg press is another that I can beast mode at because of how genetically strong my legs are. Here  I am doing 360 pounds, bringing the weight all the way down and up (feels better for me in my opinion).

Next post I will try and get better shots of muscle progression or something cause they are pretty cool in comparison from when I didn't have any.

New Year Resolutions? Plans?

I never make them, don't really ever think about it honestly but I thought it would be fun to make a    list and see where things go throughout the year and look back on this a year from now and see how I feel about it. I don't drink, I work out at a more than average basis, I'm a great student and I try to work as much as I can on the side of my studies. These things I have mastered over the past year and I am very proud of doing so. It is not easy but it is completely worth it and I am so much happier with my lifestyle.

1. I want to try and spend more time with my mom
2. Maintain a healthy lifestyle by eating better
3. Work on my relationships
4. Make more money (somehow) -_-
5.Cook/Bake more

Other than that there isn't much else I can think of that should be on that list. I am moving in with my boyfriend in July so I am looking forward to that. Hopefully I can find a better summer job before then.

Top Nail Polishes of 2013

 Out of my collection I picked out my top 10 most loved and used nail polishes over the year of 2013. Not an easy task but it was a lot of fun! I cannot ever have enough polishes, they are my weakest item to ever pass up buying. Since I don't wear jewelry that often I almost always have my nails done. Here they are in no particular order;

From left to right - Butler please, Merino Cool, Smoking Hot, Angora Cardi all from Essie and Leotard Optional from Sephora by O.P.I.
I didn't think that I would be so into the blue polish but this one reminds me of super man and everyone loves it when I have it on so I decided to wear it more frequently throughout the year and I love it every time I put it on.

From left to right- Perfect Fit and Gunmetal from Avon, Cuppa, Kerfuffle and Knackared from Butter London.
I think that Knackared is the most interesting polish I have ever seen by far. I wear it alone as well as on top of other polishes.
